I combine clinical practice with my role as a consultant trainer and professional advisor for Young Minds. In my training work I have developed a special interest in supporting health and education staff with the challenges of Depression, Anxiety, Self Harm and Eating Disorders, which are areas I am passionate about.
I have built extensive experience of working with children, young people and their families. My experience covers working with children and young people with anxiety, depression, self harm, eating disorders, psychosis, trauma and attachment difficulties. I draw on a range of evidenced based approaches including; developmental, attachment, systemic and psychodynamic practice.
But I am also skilled in working with other agencies involved in the care of children and young people within both statutory and independent sectors, such as Health Services, Education, Social Care and Voluntary organisations. As a qualified lecturer, I previously led the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Programme at the University of Greenwich and I am currently an external examiner for Roehampton University, examining a counselling programme. My postgraduate study has led to a deep interest in attachment, brain and emotional development and organisations and how they function. Latterly this has included specialist approaches to delivering effective training to a wide range of professionals across the UK.
I am passionate about working with families from all walks of life and enabling/supporting children and their parents to thrive.
