Turning to face a problem and talking about difficulties and distress is the key. The hardest part is the decision to begin! My role is to work with families, children and young people to overcome the emotions and problems they face in their every day lives. Together we begin by redefining our emotional understanding. We explore key strategies for learning to see our family and ourselves in a new light. We explore what is important and where the potential lies to resolve issues and flourish.
Meaningful talk is the single most effective way of confronting problems and creating confidence and growth. So we do that together. More here
Firstly, we get together and focus on exploring your concerns.
It’s a careful and personal process designed to help assess the level of need and then to discuss the potential ways forward. There may well be differing perspectives, and of course that is understandable as we all think differently, so we will unlock these and focus on the issues of concern together.
The idea is simply to provide the space to reflect on current difficulties.
Talking is the key to being able to move forward in every aspect of our lives. Sometimes it seems we have too many problems to cope with as we move through our personal and family lives, so I just listen and we talk and work to help with plans and confidence, new options and solutions and how to recognise future problems as challenges that can be overcome.
The frequency of sessions is a shared decision between your family and the children.
